Companies big and small have been using upsells to sell more products to their customers for years. You may have seen them but not even realised what they are.
The number one upsell I’ve seen is when you get to the checkout in a supermarket or shop and they have items around the cashier those are upsells. It’s got to be the number one method for a physical shop to upsell product to their customer.
Mcdonalds is one of the companies that is the king of the product upsell. If you buy a burger on its own the worker will always try to upsell you a different product. “Do you want fries with that”. Or if you buy a meal they will always ask if you want to go large! These are examples of product upsells.
