Introduction – What is Drip marketing automation software?

Drip is another service I use. It’s a specialist eCommerce email and SMS service provider.

I chose Drip because it has the most actions that can be triggered through Thrivecart.

Drip allows you to market to your visitors and customers through various marketing channels like email, popups, social media and SMS.

When you log into Drip they have a series of onboarding tips to help you get started quickly as well as what they call “playbooks” to get your campaigns set up quickly and easily.

Drip offers advanced segmentation and personalization features to help build a relationship and advanced split testing to get increased conversions.

Drip The Ecommerce Revenue Engine

Summary – Who is Drip not for?

If you’re a technophobe then Drip and most email marketing software are probably going to scare the living daylights out of you.

The easiest email marketing software I have come across is Sendfox.

If you have the funds to spare and you are “non-techy” then either hire someone to set it up for you or choose an easier option than Drip.

Summary – Who is Drip for?

Drip is for anyone serious about eCommerce and marketing automation.

As I said it’s my email service provider because it has the most actions that can be triggered through Thrivecart. They are:

  • Add to Campaign
  • Add to Workflow
  • Add to Existing Tag
  • Remove from Campaign
  • Remove from Workflow
  • Remove from Existing Tag
  • Apply custom Tags
  • Remove custom Tags
  • Order tracking
  • Customer Lifetime Value tracking

That’s just on Thrivecarts side there are a whole host of things you can do on Drips end too.

So if you would like to take your email marketing to the next level with automations then Drip is a rock solid candidate for you.

Why you should use email marketing software

Out of all the tools email marketing should be the first one on your businesses list. By building a relationship with people you will increase your revenue.

Through email, it is cheaper to get sales from your existing clients and customers than it is to get new clients and customers.

An email marketing platform like Drip will allow you to use marketing automation tools so you work smarter not harder.

The pros and cons of Drip email marketing

The Cons

The Pros

  • Lots of actions in Drip
  • Template automation (called playbooks)

Drip Pricing

Drip pricing is based on how many subscribers you have on your list.

Drip starts at $19 per month for up to 500 contacts while 140000 contacts will cost you $1599 per month.

SMS messages cost $3 a month for 200 messages while 2000 SMS messages will cost you $30 a month.

My experience with Drip

Drip is a good service if you want email marketing automation, I’ve seen it land in my inbox consistently from companies and marketers that use their service for many years.

I haven’t run any sort of complex tests or anything but the deliverability seems good and I haven’t had any complaints about my emails landing in spam folders.

So my experience of Drip has been good.

Drip is definitely a marketing service for the more technically inclined as the form it produces to put on your website will need some tweaks through CSS to get right.

I found the lack of page builder and form styling to be a bit of a turn-off but all in all it’s a good piece of software.

Own your traffic through email

Using an email marketing platform like the Drip eCommerce CRM allows you to build better relationships through email.

Building relationships through email allows you to own a traffic source for your marketing.

When you own the traffic it means you can send an email and direct people to your website, offers, social media and other marketing efforts.

Why are email marketing services important

Email marketing services like Drip are important because it would take you forever to build a relationship with each customer if, for example, you had one thousand customers.

Just sending one business email to a customer list this size would take just over 2 days!

With marketing automation, you can target your whole list of customers in a matter of minutes and tag them when they perform certain actions like opening an email, buying a product or visiting your site.

With a service like Drip, it becomes easier to manage large lists of prospects and customers so you can do more.

If you aren’t using a service like Drip then you are leaving a serious amount of money on the table.

Conclusion – Drip review

Would I recommend Drip?

Yes I would but with conditions.

If you’re not technically inclined then I think you would probably find getting Drip set up to be a real pain.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Drip to anyone looking to have more control over their email marketing.

I think Drip would benefit anyone who owns Thrivecart or is doing eCommerce. The deep integration with Thrivecart makes it a perfect match.

And let’s face facts the only thing we need from an email service provider is to have your email land in the inbox of your subscriber.

So a quick search of google for the term “Drip deliverability” and you will find that the company works really hard to keep the percentages up and that on most tests vs competitors the deliverability was very high.
