Getresponse is an online marketing platform that helps businesses to grow their customer base and sales.

Getresponse offers a wide range of features that make it easy for businesses to create and send newsletters, email campaigns, and other communications.

It offers a wide range of features including email marketing, landing pages, webinars, and automation.

Getresponse also provides a range of templates and designs to help businesses create high-quality marketing materials.

Getresponse was an email service provider and leads provider back in the day.

It’s good to see that they have evolved over the last decade.

They offer a landing page builder and full websites too and it’s free to get started with up to 500 contacts (although this is a seriously stripped-down version of the platform).

Summary – Who is Getresponse not for?

Getresponse is not for you if you want to keep data on your own servers as it’s a SAAS platform that stores details online only.

That being said Getresponse is a very capable service so your data is safe with them.

Getresponse is not for those who are looking for an all-in-one marketing solution.

Getresponse is also not for those who are on a tight budget and are looking for a cheaper alternative to other marketing platforms.

The pros and cons of Getresponse

The cons

There are a few cons to using Getresponse, which include:

  • The user interface is not as user-friendly as some of the other email marketing platforms out there.
  • The email builder is also not as robust as some of the other platforms, which can make it difficult to create truly customized emails.
  • The pricing is on the higher end of the spectrum when compared to other email marketing platforms.

The pros

Pricing

Getresponse pricing comes in 4 tiers, each is based on the number of subscribers you have on your list:

The free plan allows you to have 500 contacts, unlimited newsletters, create 1 landing page and have 1 website.

The email marketing plan allows you to have autoresponders, unlimited landing pages, a website builder with advanced features, basic segmentation, email scheduling and access to integrations and the API.

The marketing automation plan allows marketing automations, event based automations, webinars, advanced segmentation, contact scoring and sales funnels.

The eCommerce marketing plan allows eCommerce segmentation, transactional emails, abandoned cart recovery, promo codes, product recommendations and web push notifications.

My experience with Getresponse

I have had various goes at using GetResponse over the last 15 years so I’ve seen the platform evolve over that time.

It started out as a pretty simple autoresponder service and has become so much more.

All in all, GetResponse is a great platform but like all marketing platforms it’s not for the faint-hearted, it doesn’t have the simplicity of SendFox but it’s not as complicated as some of the platforms out there by a long shot.

Conclusion

Would I recommend Getresponse?

Yes.

Getresponse has been an email service since before I can remember.

They were one of the top 3 in this market for about a decade (The market has become very cluttered since then so it would be really hard to rank them all in order today).

They have since expanded their offering and remain competitive in this space.

If you are looking for an advanced platform with decades of experience delivering emails to the inbox then Getresponse is definitely a platform you should seriously consider.
